Nidec stock falls after probe into accounting irregularities in China

Nidec shares fell more than 22% on Thursday, marking the largest one-day drop in the company’s history. The move followed the announcement that an external committee will be appointed to investigate possible accounting violations after an internal review uncovered documents related to a roughly 200 million yen payment by the Chinese subsidiary.
