Ashford Inc. appoints Jim Plohg as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary for Ashford Inc., Ashford Hospitality Trust and Braemar Hotels & Resorts, effective December 16. Plohg, with the company since 2014 and more than 25 years of experience, will take responsibility for all legal, compliance and regulatory matters for the three companies. The appointment comes as Ashford Hospitality Trust navigates operational and financial challenges — the stock fell nearly 50% last year and the company reported a net loss of about $267.62 million over the past twelve months.
