  • Electra secures C$17.5 million financing for cobalt sulfate refinery in Ontario

    Electra has reached final agreements with Invest Ontario for C$17.5 million in financing to support construction of the cobalt sulfate refinery in Temiskaming Shores. Construction is underway; commissioning is planned for Q4 2026, mechanical completion for Q2 2027 and commercial production for Q4 2027. The plant is designed for 5,120 tonnes of contained cobalt per year (crystallizer up to 6,500 t). Electra has secured 100% of the required cobalt feedstock for commissioning and ramp‑up through an expanded supply agreement with Glencore; it also intends to issue 500,000 incentive share options, subject to TSX‑V approval. » Mais em de.investing.com


  • Electra Battery Materials advances construction of cobalt refinery in Ontario

    Electra Battery Materials has signed construction contracts for its cobalt sulfate refinery in Ontario (about C$26m with WB Melback, roughly C$6.8m with Pro Pipe) and reports progress on solvent-extraction and crystallization plants as well as concrete, steelwork and piping. Fabrication of equipment components is underway; Kilmarnock Enterprises has begun demolition work and the setup of a fabrication facility. Engineering design is largely complete and piping isometrics have been handed to contractors.   • Electra Battery Materials changes loan terms to take on state financing

    Electra Battery Materials has amended the terms of its senior secured credit and guarantee agreement dated October 22, 2025, to increase the amount of permitted indebtedness under state financing arrangements and to provide greater flexibility on liens and payments. Portions of the permitted indebtedness may in future be secured pari passu with existing secured lenders, while all previous guarantees and security interests remain unchanged and have been reconfirmed.
