MISC boosts profit and revenue strongly in Q2 – shares fall after cautious outlook

MISC reported significantly higher Q2 results: revenue rose 90% to USD 1.2bn, net profit doubled to USD 293m and operating cash flow climbed to USD 599m. Drivers were unusually high tanker rates in the petroleum segment, increased offshore project activity and one‑off effects that management said should not be seen as a new earnings base. The share fell 6.6% after the report as management warned of a normalization of tanker rates in the second half of the year.
