The increase in net income for the first quarter of 2025 was primarily the result of an increase in premium revenue and favorable loss experience in the Company's life and health operations. ATLANTA, March 25, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Atlantic American Corporation (Nasdaq- AAME) today reported net income of $0.4 million, or $0.02 per diluted share, for the three month period ended December 31, 2024, compared to net loss of $2.2 million, or $(0.11) per diluted share, for the three month period ended December 31, 2023. The Company had net loss of $4.3 million, or $(0.23) per diluted share, for the year ended December 31, 2024, compared to net loss of $0.2 million, or $(0.03) per diluted share, for the year ended December 31, 2023. The increase in net income for the three month period ended December 31, 2024 was primarily the result of favorable loss experience in the Company's life and health operations due to a decrease in incurred losses, predominantly in the group life and Medicare supplement lines of business.
