For the quarter, ten analysts forecast revenue of 9.57 billion EUR, well below the 22.52 billion EUR of the same quarter last year. BBVA has received approval from the European Central Bank for a share buyback program of up to €3.96 billion, which may be executed in multiple tranches until 8 December 2026. The first tranche begins on 22 December 2025 with a maximum cash amount of €1.5 billion and a cap of 557,316,433 shares; completion is planned between 6 March and 7 April 2026 unless the limits are reached earlier. J.P. BBVA again convinced too few Sabadell shareholders: only slightly more than a quarter accepted the offer, while at least 30 percent would have been required. The planned takeover has therefore failed, and Sabadell shares fell by about six percent. BBVA announced a share buyback in a "significant" amount; the BBVA share temporarily rose to its highest level since 2007.
