Bitcoin Group SE: BaFin denies MiCAR authorization for futurum bank AG
BaFin has rejected futurum bank AG's application submitted on 27 June 2025 for authorization as a crypto-asset service provider under MiCAR. The previous tolerated status has been withdrawn, and the platform trading business on bitcoin.de has been suspended since 12 June 2026. futurum bank plans to cooperate with a German-regulated institution that will act as a trading partner on short notice and with another institution as custodian. Bitcoin Group: trading on bitcoin.de halted, MiCAR license delays restart
Crypto trading on bitcoin.de has been suspended since the end of June because the MiCAR license for futurum bank is still missing. As a result, revenue in H1 fell sharply from €3.8 million to €1.6 million and EBITDA worsened to minus €3.25 million.
