The Superior Court of Quebec has granted final approval to the plan of arrangement between Boralex and BIF Thunder Holdings, which will be jointly owned by Brookfield Infrastructure Fund V and the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. Shareholders have already approved the transaction; closing remains subject to customary closing and regulatory approvals and is expected by the fourth quarter of 2026. Boralex and Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation secured C$202m (US$144m) in financing for the 125MW/500MWh Oxford Battery Energy Storage Project in Ontario. CIBC and National Bank of Canada arranged the green loan package, which includes a C$166m construction loan that will convert to a five-year term amortised over 20 years, a C$25m ITC-linked bridge loan and an C$11m letter of credit facility. Commercial operations are scheduled for 2027, the project is being developed in a 50/50 partnership and the financing will reduce near-term equity requirements.
