According to two brokerages, BYD is aiming for over 2.5 million overseas deliveries in 2027, supported by market share gains, a growing fleet of its own car carriers and new factories. The Hungary plant is to begin assembly at the end of 2026, and additional sites are being considered to avoid EU and Brazil tariffs and reduce export costs. BYD also plans to expand charging infrastructure and is targeting a 25 percent share of its home market. BYD is reportedly considering an order worth around $1 billion for additional car carriers to logistically secure rapidly rising overseas sales. Between January and August 2026, exports rose 85.7% to about 1.16 million vehicles, while domestic sales fell by roughly one third.
