Delivery Hero has appointed John Woyton to the supervisory board until the 2027 annual general meeting; he replaces Scott Ferguson and will take seats on the audit and strategy committees. Woyton brings more than two decades of private equity and M&A experience for technology, media and telecommunications companies. At the same time, Uber’s takeover offer (€41.50 per share; acceptance deadline November 5) is ongoing and CEO co‑founder Niklas Östberg intends to step down by the end of March at the latest, so the company is searching for a new CEO. Delivery Hero's management considers Uber's takeover offer of €41.50 per share (total valuation just under €13 billion) to be fair. Delivery Hero shares are currently well below that, at around €36.60. To avoid competition conflicts, Delivery Hero is selling its business in 14 countries to SSW Partners for around €1.4 billion, but rivals and EU politicians warn that SSW could resell these markets to Uber and thus heavily concentrate market shares. The management board and supervisory board of Delivery Hero support Uber's $14.8 billion takeover bid and recommend that shareholders accept the offer. After reviewing the offer document, they consider the cash payment of €41.50 per share to be appropriate and fair.
