Rightmove reports average newly listed asking prices in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea fell from £1,648,148 to £1,552,970 in one month, a drop of roughly £95,000. Nationally, newly listed asking prices fell 2% in August, with London down 4.4% as supply rises to a 16-year high and sellers compete for affordability-stretched buyers. Rightmove has announced a share buyback programme of up to £350 million, due to begin on 3 August 2026. The programme is intended to return surplus capital to shareholders and reduce issued share capital; all repurchased ordinary shares will be cancelled. By 31 July 2027, Rightmove expects total payouts to shareholders of more than £400 million, of which around £330 million will be through buybacks. At the annual general meeting on 8 May 2026, Rightmove approved a dividend of £0.11 for 2025, a 10% increase year on year. A total of £78.56m will be paid to shareholders; the dividend yield for 2025 is 2.05% and the stock is trading ex-dividend today.
