Standard Chartered launches spot Bitcoin and Ether trading for UAE institutions

Standard Chartered has begun offering institutional spot trading in Bitcoin and Ether to eligible clients in the United Arab Emirates, becoming the first global systemically important bank to provide this service in the country. Trades can be executed via the bank's electronic trading channels integrated with existing foreign-exchange interfaces, and settlements may use custodians of clients' choice, including Standard Chartered's custody platform. Standard Chartered announces redemption of subordinated bond over €1 billion

Standard Chartered will fully redeem its outstanding subordinated reset notes with a volume of €1 billion (coupon 1.200%, maturity 2031, ISIN XS2319954710) on 23 September 2026. The bank is exercising its call option and will pay the call redemption amount plus accrued, unpaid interest. Standard Chartered starts coverage of Chainlink, targets $200 by 2030

Standard Chartered initiated coverage of Chainlink with a price target of $200 by end-2030 and staged targets of $13 this year, then $41, $82 and $133. The bank projects tokenized assets on-chain rising to about $4 trillion by end-2028 and DeFi assets to $2.7 trillion by 2030, arguing Chainlink fees and token value should scale roughly 25-fold as it captures a large share of oracle-dependent value.
