Telecom Italia posted Q2 EBITDA after lease liabilities of €998m (consensus €995m) and returned to profitability with a net profit of €88m. Group revenue rose 2% in the first half to €6.8bn, while adjusted EBITDA increased 6.3% excluding MVNO. Growth was driven by TIM Brasil and the enterprise business, with cloud revenues in the enterprise segment up 18.1%. A court in Milan rejected Telecom Italia’s request for interim measures against the KKR-backed FiberCop. The dispute concerned new tariffs and the disclosure of the commercial terms of the Master Service Agreement that governs TIM’s network access. The supervisory board of Telecom Italia considers Poste’s €10.8 billion takeover bid to be appropriate and is expected to confirm this at a meeting before the start of the formal offer period.
