City Chic raises adjusted EBITDA sharply and reports turnaround progress

City Chic increased adjusted EBITDA by 92% to AUD 12.3m in fiscal year 26 on revenue of AUD 130.5m, generated positive cash flow of AUD 2.2m and net cash of AUD 5.2m. The retail gross margin improved to 60.6%, the active customer base reached a record 517,000, and the ANZ business grew strongly. Management considers the US restructuring program complete and expects revenue and margin improvements in H2 FY27, but gave no concrete guidance for the next year. City Chic boosts profitability in H1 FY26 by 86% thanks to margin gains

City Chic reports adjusted EBITDA of $6.5m (+86%) for H1 FY26 on almost stable revenue (-0.4%), driven by an expansion in gross margin and reduced inventory. Merchandise gross margin rose 220 basis points to 62.2%, while the operating expense ratio fell to 51.7% of sales. The ANZ business delivered double‑digit contribution margin growth, while the US business saw a deliberate revenue decline for strategic reasons; the balance sheet remains stable with $5.4m cash and an undrawn $10m credit facility.
