The French investment bank Rothschild & Co is buying the multi-family office Marcard, Stein & Co from Hamburg private bank M.M. Warburg, expanding Rothschild’s asset management business in Germany and in the process obtaining a German banking licence. Around 80 employees will move to Rothschild. The transaction is still subject to approval by competition and banking supervisors; M.M. Dar Global PLC intends to transfer its listing on the London Stock Exchange from “Equity Shares (Transition)” to “Equity Shares (Commercial Companies)” on 9 September 2025; this requires approval from the UK regulator FCA but not from shareholders.
