Airtel Money plans London flotation but may not end UK listings drought
Airtel Money, 78% owned by Airtel Africa, is preparing a London IPO valuing the payments business at about £6–7bn. The spin-off leverages Airtel Africa’s FTSE 100 presence and strong fintech growth — monthly active users total 53m with 75m potential customers and circa 20% annual growth. The listing raises cash for existing shareholders without new equity, yet analysts warn it is a home-favourite rather than proof that London will win tougher overseas IPO contests such as Visma. » More on theguardian.com
Airtel Money targets $9bn London IPO, plans to raise $800m
Airtel Money, the mobile-money arm of Airtel Africa, plans a London IPO aiming for a $8–9bn valuation and to raise about $800m. The business serves 53 million monthly active users across 13 sub‑Saharan countries and generated nearly $1.4bn in revenue last financial year, with Q4 revenue up 38% to £399m. Airtel Africa will retain about 78% after the float; final pricing and offer size will be announced in early October. The company chose London citing investor depth and understanding of emerging markets. » More on theguardian.com
