Avista surpasses Q2 earnings forecast, stock weighed by wildfires
Avista reported adjusted Q2 earnings of $0.29 per share versus consensus $0.24, while revenue of $426.93 million narrowly missed the $429.98 million estimate. The stock fell about 3% pre-market due to concerns over wildfire damage in the Spokane region, potential restoration costs and uncertainty around large data-center projects. The company removed a 500‑MW data-center project from its capital plan but stressed that discussions are more paused than ended; additionally, a one-time gain from the EIP fund in Q3 could be volatile. Avista faces added risks from an ongoing four-year rate case in Washington and a strained liquidity and debt position. » More on de.investing.com
Avista Q1 2026: profit beats expectations, revenue well below forecast
Avista reported diluted EPS of $1.11 for Q1, beating the $1.05 estimate, while revenue of $555 million missed the expected $657.61 million by a wide margin (-15.6%). The stock showed little movement, with slight pre- and post-market gains; management reaffirmed the full-year non-GAAP earnings guidance of $2.52–$2.72. Avista attributes the better-than-expected result to cost management and operational improvements, continues to focus on grid hardening and clean energy, but sees risks from regulatory uncertainties and volatile costs. » More on de.investing.com
