Cadence Design Systems introduces AI agents and cuts chips' power use and area by double-digit percentages
Cadence Design Systems is expanding its EDA software platform with a new AI agent. The technology reduces the power consumption and area of designed chips by double-digit percentages. This secures Cadence's market position and increases customer retention in a growing semiconductor market. » More on finanzen.net
Cadence sees AI and rising chip complexity as growth drivers
Cadence presented at the Goldman Sachs conference a business model that benefits from strong customer demand, rising chip complexity and a record order backlog. CEO Anirudh Devgan emphasized that agent-based AI, physical AI and system-design analysis create new revenue opportunities and are more likely to increase than replace use of EDA tools. Demand for hardware-acceleration systems like Palladium is at a record level and is being driven by larger chip sizes and hyperscaler projects. Cadence highlights multiple partnerships with foundries and a broad EDA portfolio, and sees strong industry-wide growth in data centers, physical AI and scientific AI. » More on de.investing.com
Cadence Design Systems raises full-year outlook after strong Q2 results
Cadence Design Systems beat expectations in the second quarter with diluted non-GAAP earnings per share of $2.11 (expected $2.05) and revenue of $1.58 billion (up 24% year over year). Management raised the 2026 revenue forecast to $6.26–6.34 billion (previously $6.13–6.23 billion) and non-GAAP EPS guidance to $8.05–8.15. Drivers include continued strong demand for AI-powered design tools and a record backlog of $8 billion, which sent the stock sharply higher in after-hours trading and eased investor concerns about potential AI disruption. » More on de.investing.com
