Cathay Pacific posts record revenue and rising half-year profit
Cathay Pacific reports a group profit of HKD 6.2bn for H1 2026 (+67.6%) on record revenue of HKD 68.1bn. Load factor rose to 87.5% and passenger and cargo revenue increased markedly; there was also a one-off disposal gain of around HKD 1.4bn from the Air China share placement. The interim dividend was raised by 30% to HKD 0.26, while higher jet fuel prices (+45% year-on-year) and operating costs remain risks. Management expects robust demand in the second half and plans substantial investments in the fleet and premium offerings. » More on de.investing.com
Cathay Pacific forecasts strong half-year profit and shares rise
Cathay Pacific expects a net profit attributable to shareholders of HK$6.0–6.5bn for the first half of 2026, which would be the second-best half-year result in the company’s history and an increase of about 62–76% versus H1 2025. The forecast includes a one-off gain of HK$1.4bn from the partial dilution of its Air China stake; adjusted for this, strong fundamentals show passenger growth of 17.5% and cargo up 9%. Despite significantly higher fuel costs, Cathay largely offset the impact thanks to robust demand and a strong premium segment; the stock rose roughly 4.1% to HK$14.14. » More on de.investing.com
