Howmet Aerospace faces competitive pressure after GE's $11.75 billion CPP acquisition
GE's acquisition of Consolidated Precision Products for about $11.75 billion prompted a roughly 10% drop in Howmet Aerospace shares amid investor concern GE may rely less on outside suppliers. Howmet CEO John Plant said he remains confident in growth, but the company is being tested by the scale of required capital expansions to meet soaring demand across commercial aviation, defense and data-center turbines. General Electric receives $2.87 billion Navy contract for F414 engine logistics
The U.S. Department of Defense awarded a fiveâyear, performanceâbased logistics contract worth $2.87 billion to General Electric to support 17 F414 engine components used in F/Aâ18 E/F/G aircraft. Work will be performed 90% in Lynn, Massachusetts, and 10% in Jacksonville, Florida, and is expected to be completed by August 2031.
