Goodyear extends turnaround as debt and cash burn persist
Goodyear extended its 'Goodyear Forward' turnaround after missing key targets, with CEO Mark Stewart still targeting a 10% operating margin and meaningful cash flow. The company reported a $453 million net loss in H1 while generating $131 million in operating income and carrying over $7 billion of debt. Capital expenditures will be cut to about $725 million this year to prioritize debt reduction and refinancing, but tariffs, high input costs and cheap Chinese imports continue to pressure margins and raise execution risk. » More on finance.yahoo.com

Goodyear reported Q2 revenue of $4.3 billion (expectation $4.12 billion) and an adjusted loss per share of $0.61, in line with estimates. The stock fell 3.6% after-hours to $6.69 as investors focused on ongoing losses, expected cash burn and a cautious 2026 outlook. The company confirmed an operating segment result of about $600 million for 2026, plans to close the Fayetteville plant and expects a free cash flow outflow of $200–300 million in 2026. Goodyear also plans to issue roughly $1 billion of senior notes to refinance 2027 maturities and sees slight improvements in volume and mix in the second half of the year. » More on de.investing.com
