Fitch has affirmed Hannover Rück’s insurer financial strength rating (IFS) at AA- and raised the outlook from stable to positive. The agency expects the reinsurer to maintain its very strong capitalization and financial performance even under more challenging market conditions over the next 12–24 months. Hannover Rück warns of underestimated cyber risks and expects slight price pressure
Ahead of the industry meeting in Monte Carlo, CEO Clemens Jungsthöfel warned that a potential large-scale cyber loss event is often not reflected in premiums. Hannover Rück also expects slightly falling prices in the property and casualty business for the contract renewal round on 1 January 2027. Analysts are divided: the consensus target is around €282.40, while Barclays (€246) and the InvestingPro fair-value model (€252.64) are significantly more conservative.
