Legal & General to cut 1,000 jobs by mid-2027 as part of restructuring
Legal & General will eliminate about 1,000 roles—roughly 10% of its workforce—by mid-2027 as CEO António Simões pursues a leaner organisational structure. The programme will start with voluntary redundancies in the UK, with mandatory cuts possible depending on take-up; the fund management division is excluded. Simões has refocused the group on its pensions business, merged asset management units, sold non-core assets and pledged to return over £5bn to shareholders between 2025 and 2027. The company cites strong pension market opportunities, including an expected £500bn of transactions in UK pensions over the next decade. » More on theguardian.com
