LATAM Airlines secures $505 million financing for fleet renewal, shares fall
LATAM Airlines ADRs fell 2.4% even though the company completed a $505 million financing agreement for 11 planned aircraft deliveries. About $400 million of the financing is tied to sustainability criteria; BNP Paribas is leading the credit structure with interest incentives linked to COâ reduction. LATAM Airlines increases revenue sharply and raises annual forecast
LATAM Airlines reported a 27.9% revenue increase in the second quarter to USD 4.2 billion and a net profit of USD 125 million, despite sharply higher fuel costs (+93%). Adjusted earnings per share were USD 0.436, missing the analysts' expectation of USD 1.04, but investors focused on strong operational trends, cash flow and the raised guidance for revenue, EBITDA and liquidity. LATAM Airlines reported its best quarter in history in Q1 2026 with earnings per share of $2.01 versus a forecast of $1.38. Revenue rose 21.7% to $4.15 billion, adjusted EBITDA reached $1.3 billion and net income increased by about 62%. The stock rose 8.58% in premarket trading.
