Old Mutual boosts operating returns in H1 2026 despite falling adjusted earnings
Old Mutual increased operating earnings per share by 11% and substantially improved returns: ROGEV rose to 12.7% and normalized RONAV to 12.6%, with both metrics for the first time exceeding estimated capital costs of 12.5%. Adjusted total earnings per share fell 27% due to weaker investment returns and longer bond duration; individual units such as Insure suffered storm-related losses. Old Mutual moves secondary listing to the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange
Old Mutual is moving its secondary listing in Zimbabwe from the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange to the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange; trading is set to begin on 12 August 2026. The opening price will be determined by the market via the VFEX trading system by matching buy and sell orders without the usual price limits. From the second trading day onward, the regular VFEX price limits of 20% relative to the previous day's closing price will apply. Old Mutual invites shareholders to virtual dialogue after insufficient support for remuneration policy
Old Mutual has announced a virtual roundtable with shareholders for 29 July after the remuneration policy and remuneration report received only 68.39% and 70.72% support respectively at the annual general meeting on 5 June, falling short of the required 75% threshold. Shareholders can register online and submit their concerns or recommendations in writing to head of investor relations Langa Manqele by 24 July.
