PTC unveils AI-centered strategy and new products, but warns of near-term headwinds

At the Citi Global TMT Conference, PTC presented its “intelligent product lifecycle” strategy, is ramping up a broader AI offensive, and announced the products Jetstream and Orbit to better link development, manufacturing and service. Management sees AI as a driver of workflow automation and plans hybrid pricing (seat-based plus usage-based) for AI features. PTC launches Onshape Labs — early access for AI features in Onshape

PTC has launched Onshape Labs as an early‑access program that gives customers early access to new features and AI tools within the cloud‑native CAD and PDM platform Onshape. Initial features include AI Quick Render for text‑based renderings and a connector to NVIDIA Isaac Sim for robotics simulation; planned additions include AI agents, a drawing checker and the FeatureScript MCP Server. Whatfix partners with PTC to accelerate PLM software adoption

Whatfix and PTC are working together to help manufacturers in industries such as automotive, industrial machinery and medical technology implement PTC Windchill PLM systems. Whatfix provides in‑app guidance, workflow support and usage analytics intended to be integrated directly into PLM workflows. Companies using Whatfix are expected to complete engineering tasks faster, improve onboarding and adoption, and reduce data errors and support requests.
