Amarin reports 42% revenue decline after missing prior-year license payment
Amarin reported a 42% decline in net revenues for Q2, mainly due to the absence of a $25m license prepayment from Recordati in the prior-year period. Operating expenses fell 59% to $27m after completing a $70m cost‑reduction initiative. US sales of VASCEPA decreased slightly because of generic competition and net price pressure, partly offset by demand; the company recorded its third consecutive quarter of positive cash flow and expects international growth, stable US sales volumes, positive cash flow and a 10% increase in liquid funds by the end of 2026. » More on de.investing.com
Amarin emphasizes cost advantage of VASCEPA after approval of new injectable therapies
Amarin clarifies that VASCEPA remains a treatment option for severe hypertriglyceridemia and reduced triglycerides by a median of 33% versus placebo. About 50% of patients reached levels below 500 mg/dL after 12 weeks. The company highlights that the annual wholesale prices of the new injectable APOC3 therapies are around $40,000, while VASCEPA costs about $4,200 per patient. Amarin also points to over 30 million prescriptions and the cardiovascular approval in combination with statins. » More on de.investing.com
Amarin shareholders block share issuances and restrict equity compensation
Amarin shareholders rejected several key proposals, including the renewal of the authorization to issue new shares, an increase in the reserve under the 2020 Stock Incentive Plan, and the issuance of shares without UK pre-emption rights. While the re-election of several board members and the advisory approval of executive pay were passed, they received lower support levels. The board warns this will severely limit the grant of equity-based incentives, make future variable pay primarily cash‑based, and incur additional costs for paper shareholder communications. Shareholders approved the appointment of Ernst & Young as auditor for fiscal year 2026. » More on de.investing.com
