Celanese sells another 19% stake in Nutrinova to Mitsui for $152 million

Celanese has signed a definitive agreement to sell a further 19% stake in Nutrinova to Mitsui for about $152 million, reducing Celanese’s stake to 11%. The sold stake generated an equity result of roughly $4 million in 2025. Proceeds will be used to reduce net debt and pay down upcoming liabilities; closing is expected in Q4 2026 and is subject to customary regulatory conditions. Celanese closes Ulsan site, moves production to China and India

Celanese has halted manufacturing at its technical materials plant in Ulsan with immediate effect and is shifting volumes to Nanjing and Shenzhen in China and to Silvassa in India. The company said it will contractually support customers during the transition; the move is part of a production-network optimization to cut costs.
