Henkel CEO Carsten Knobel says the company has agreed or completed acquisitions worth around €5 billion in recent months and will consider further deals if they are a strategic fit, available and financially attractive. The purchases are intended to strengthen its adhesives and consumer goods divisions. At the same time Henkel is feeling higher energy and raw material costs from rising oil prices; price increases for consumer goods are difficult to enforce, while industrial customers expect price reductions if raw material costs ease.
