Court confirms patent invalidation; Netlist stock falls sharply

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit upheld the invalidation of a key Netlist patent, finding all challenged claims obvious and therefore not patentable. Netlist files complaint at ITC against Micron and others – stock jumps

Netlist’s shares rose about 14.5% after the company filed a complaint with the US International Trade Commission against Micron, Supermicro, HPE and Lenovo alleging infringement of four patents. Netlist is seeking a cease-and-desist and exclusion order to block imports of the allegedly infringing memory products and has also filed a lawsuit against Micron in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California over two patents.
