NXP unveils shift to "Physical AI" at Goldman Sachs conference and raises outlook
Under CEO Rafael Sotomayor, NXP is repositioning toward "Physical AI" and intelligent edge systems and is divesting products that don't fit in order to offer complete system solutions. The company reported record results in the second quarter with about 20% revenue growth excluding sensors and sees a structural improvement in pricing that should support margins. NXP reaffirmed its 2027 targets for revenue growth and margins and expects further growth in automotive, industrial, data center and robotics. Manufacturing will become more asset-light with increased use of external foundries and a focus on 16nm and 5nm technologies. » More on de.investing.com

NXP sees cyclical recovery and focuses on automotive, industrial AI and margin expansion
At the Technology Leadership Forum NXP presented a more optimistic chip-cycle outlook and reaffirmed its long-term goal of $16 billion in revenue and roughly 60% gross margin by 2027. Book-to-bill is above 1.0 across all end markets; automotive remains the main growth driver, while the industrial physical-AI business (Kinara pipeline) is set to grow to about $1.5 billion. The data-center business is expected to double to around $500 million in 2026; in the short term results are weighed down by back-end inflation, higher input costs and inventory of 156 days (target 110 days). Management is relying on software monetization, selective price increases and greater outsourcing of manufacturing to improve margins. » More on de.investing.com
