Wix accelerates AI transition, Base44 grows rapidly and pressures margin mix

At the Citi Global TMT Conference, Wix presented its strategy for the AI era, stressing that AI agents and humans will jointly shape how websites are used. The AI-native platform Base44 saw rapid growth (ARR rising from $100m to $150m in roughly 2.5 months) and increasing gross margins, while proprietary models like Wix Harmony LLM and Base 1 are expected to significantly reduce inference costs. Wix integrates website builder Wix Harmony directly into Google's Gemini

Wix has integrated its app Wix Harmony into the Google Gemini platform, allowing users to create and manage websites via voice or text input within Gemini. The generated pages run on Wix infrastructure and offer e-commerce, appointment scheduling, payment processing, SEO and security features. Websites can be created in the Gemini chat using "@Wix" and then managed either directly in Gemini or in the Wix Business Manager. Wix beats Q2 forecasts thanks to AI initiative and raises full-year outlook

Wix reported adjusted EPS of $1.59 and revenue of $563.1 million for Q2 2026, both above consensus estimates, supported by demand for AI-powered products. Bookings rose 12% and revenue grew 15% year-over-year; management noted initial margin improvements from the AI platform Base44 and the new in-house LLM Base1. The company maintains high sales and marketing spending but expects improved gross margin in H2 2026 and reconfirms revenue growth in the low- to mid-teens percentage range for 2026.
