ArcBest reports improving margins, Q2 adjusted EPS beats estimates

ArcBest raises Q2 outlook for LTL unit and asset-light segment

ArcBest increased second-quarter guidance, raising LTL margin forecast by 200 basis points and projecting a roughly 90.8% adjusted operating ratio, implying a 600–700 bps sequential improvement. The asset-light 3PL unit's adjusted operating income outlook was raised to $3–5 million, $2 million higher at each end. April and May results beat expectations with revenue per day up, tonnage growth driven by heavier shipments, and higher fuel surcharges boosting revenue metrics.
