AstraZeneca announced a $2 billion equity investment and clinical collaboration with Summit Therapeutics, acquiring roughly a 12% stake while leaving Summit commercial rights to ivonescimab. The CEO said ivonescimab, a bispecific antibody targeting PD‑1 and VEGF that outperformed Keytruda in trials, could be combined with AstraZeneca's antibody‑drug conjugates to create next‑generation cancer treatments. Astrazeneca invests $2 billion in Summit Therapeutics for Ivonescimab collaboration

Astrazeneca is putting $2 billion into US biotech Summit Therapeutics and will thereafter control 10.6 percent on a fully diluted basis. The aim is a clinical collaboration to develop combination therapies around the bispecific antibody Ivonescimab, which binds PD-1 and VEGF simultaneously. Planned trials include combinations with the ADC Sonesitatug Vedotin, among others.
