Biffa Group Holdings announces pre-stabilization period for secured notes

Biffa Group Holdings is preparing a pre-stabilization period for new senior secured notes in euros and pounds with a 5.5-year term (Non-Call 2). J.P. Morgan Securities plc will act as stabilization coordinator; other managers include Goldman Sachs, ABN Amro, Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, NatWest, Rabobank and Scotiabank. The period is expected to run from 4 December 2025 until no later than 4 January 2026 and allows an overallotment of up to 5%. Biffa warns disposable vapes causing fires and rising waste volumes

Biffa reports thousands of disposable vapes arriving at its facilities daily despite a national ban, with volumes rising since the ban took effect. The devices contain built-in lithium-ion batteries and e-liquid that can ignite during collection or compaction, causing fires in bins, trucks and waste sites. Biffa warns UK losing £2bn plastics recycling industry as exports surge

Biffa says a government loophole that makes exporting plastic waste cheaper is driving 600,000 tonnes abroad each year, contributing to the closure of 21 UK recycling factories in two years. Industry figures warn exports and cheap virgin plastic have hollowed out domestic processing capacity, risking environmental harm and costing a potential £2bn industry and around 5,000 jobs.
