British & American Investment Trust reports half-year loss of £4.3m

The British & American Investment Trust posted a net loss of £4.3 million for the six months to 30 June 2025, after a profit of £5.2 million a year earlier. Net assets fell at the end of December 2024 from £6.0 million to £1.6 million and diluted net asset value per share dropped from 17p to 5p, mainly caused by a 50% share-price collapse of the largest holding, Geron. Because of the impairment of the main holding and a roughly 10% weaker US dollar, no interim dividend was announced. Since the end of the reporting period, net assets recovered to £2.4 million (7p per share) as of 24 September 2025, while the FTSE 100 gained 5.6%. » More on de.investing.com
