DFS Furniture: employee trust buys 1.3m shares and plans further purchases
The DFS Furniture employee trust has completed the purchase of 1,300,000 ordinary shares at £0.10 each; Ocorian Limited received £5.8m for the transaction. The funds came from returned contributions from a “Save As You Earn” programme and an additional cash injection. The trustee plans to acquire a further 3,500,000 ordinary shares within 12 months to meet obligations from employee share schemes, long-term incentives and restricted shares. DFS Furniture confirms full-year guidance despite weak demand
DFS Furniture confirms its profit guidance of £43–50m for the full year, despite a recent fall in customer traffic. In the first half, revenue rose 8.6% to £547.7m and profit before tax increased 82% to £31m; gross margin improved by 110 basis points to 57.8% and net debt fell to £61m. Order intake rose 2.3% and the company announces an interim dividend of 1.0p per share. DFS Furniture raises full-year forecast after strong profit growth
DFS Furniture expects adjusted profit before tax and brand amortisation of £30–31m for the first half, up £13–14m on the year. The group reports order growth of 2.3% and delivery‑realised gross sales up around 8.7%. For the full year it now expects adjusted profit of £43–50m (consensus £41m); net borrowings have been reduced to about £60–61m, improving leverage to 0.8x.
