EMCOR benefits from ongoing data center boom despite New York moratorium

Louis Navellier says New York’s one-year moratorium on hyperscale data centers won’t derail the sector, noting continued strong demand and an expected backlog through 2029–2030. U.S. data centers numbered 5,427 at end-2025 with plans to add 3,969, and construction spending rose 7% in June to $68.3 billion. EMCOR rises after record result and significant forecast increase

EMCOR reported adjusted earnings per share of $9.06 for Q2 2026 (consensus $7.25) and revenue of $5.15 billion, both well above expectations. Management raised the full-year EPS guidance to $32.00–33.25 (previously $28.25–29.75), clearly above the prior analyst consensus. Strong demand from construction of AI data centers, hyperscale cloud infrastructure and high-tech manufacturing, plus several acquisitions — two completed and two additional transactions of around $700 million in prospect — support the growth.
