Enel calls for halt to concession review in São Paulo

Enel has asked the Brazilian regulator Aneel to stop the process that could lead to the revocation of the distribution concession for São Paulo. The company argues that Aneel has insufficiently analyzed the impact on consumers and notes that it has met the official quality metrics; Enel describes the December 2025 event as unprecedented. Aneel had previously identified structural shortcomings and inadequate performance during extreme weather events in 2023–2025 and has now confirmed receipt of Enel’s final statement before making a recommendation to the federal government. Davis Polk sues Enel for $3.3 million over unpaid legal fees

Law firm Davis Polk filed suit in New York against Enel North America and two affiliated companies, seeking $3.3 million plus interest for outstanding fees. Davis Polk had represented Enel subsidiary High Lonesome Wind Power in a derivatives dispute with Allianz SE stemming from Winter Storm Uri in 2021. Enel raises annual forecast, stock slightly down despite profit surprise

Enel lowered the bottom end of its 2026 earnings target range to €0.74 per share, thereby refining the annual target after better-than-expected half-year results. Adjusted profit rose by just under 3% in the first half to €3.93 billion, net profit climbed about 9% to just over €3.7 billion and was slightly above analysts’ estimates. Strong results in Spain and Latin America contrast with a weaker domestic market in Italy, where lower margins, reduced hydropower output and falling retail prices weigh on performance.
