Expion360 renamed to Expion Energy and buys exploration rights in Louisiana
Expion360 has renamed itself Expion Energy and acquired an exploration option in eastern Louisiana for $3.425 million, covering about 3,000 net acres of existing oil and gas leases, one wellbore, research on mineral rights across roughly 13,000 net acres and related intellectual property. The company committed to an exploration well (a new lateral) by Feb. 15, 2027 and is providing up to $4 million for a leasing program, at least $2.5 million of which is for arm’s‑length leases. The board appointed Kevin Sellers as CEO; he will receive 50,000 restricted stock units with staggered vesting, while Joseph Hammer remains interim chair of the board.
