Halloren cuts prices after drop in raw cocoa prices and urges industry to follow suit
Chocolate maker Halloren will lower its selling prices because raw cocoa prices have fallen sharply after larger harvests in the Ivory Coast and Ghana. CEO Darren Ehlert views the move as a signal to the industry not to demand artificially inflated margins and aims for prices similar to those before the crisis. Trade and retailers have not yet committed to passing the discounts on to customers. Halloren also reported record sales in the previous year and employs around 500 people across three plants. » More on finanzen.net
