Hyundai Rotem develops K3 hydrogen-powered stealth tank with AI and unmanned turret

Hyundai Rotem and South Korea's Agency for Defense Development are developing the K3, a next-generation hydrogen-fuel cell "stealth" main battle tank featuring a low acoustic and thermal signature, seamless exterior, and separated crew and ammo sections. The K3 will mount a 130mm smoothbore gun in an unmanned turret and rely on AI-enhanced fire control for automated targeting and battle management. Early models will use a dual-mode hydrogen-diesel system, with fully hydrogen-powered production targeted for 2040 pending solutions for hydrogen storage and refueling.
