Meta has agreed with the attorneys general of most US states to an $18 billion settlement that includes extensive protections for minors on Facebook and Instagram. The rules include a default shared daily limit of two hours, mandatory breaks after every 15 minutes of scrolling, nighttime access restrictions, hidden like counts, a ban on certain beauty filters and tougher measures against self-harm and eating disorder content.
