Invinity Energy Systems has appointed Volker Beckers CBE as a non-executive director with immediate effect. Beckers brings more than 30 years of energy experience, including leadership roles at RWE Npower and non-executive positions at Cornwall Insight, Piclo and Reactive Technologies. The appointment followed a selection process by the nominations committee and was supported by the National Wealth Fund under the Relationship Agreement of May 2024. Invinity has completed the delivery of a 20.7‑MWh vanadium‑flow battery system to the Copwood VFB Energy Hub in East Sussex. The installation is coupled with a 3‑MWp solar array and, the company says, will meet the daily electricity needs of about 3,000 households. The project is due to be commissioned before year‑end and to start generating revenue, subject to final confirmation by the local distribution network operator.
