Smart announces all-electric two-seater smart #2 for late 2026

Smart is bringing the smart #2, a new all-electric two-seater, to market as a modern evolution of the Fortwo aimed primarily at Europe and scheduled for late 2026. The design comes from the Mercedes‑Benz design team, the technology is supplied by joint-venture partner Geely, and production will take place in China. Smart CEO Anna Scott resigns after two years at the helm

Anna Scott has resigned as chief executive of Smart, the NZX-owned funds management arm, after a two-year tenure. Scott will lead the New Zealand office of a global financial services group starting October 2025.
