Vuzix has begun delivering evaluation samples of its Causeway waveguide bridges to selected customers and partners intended for optical links in AI data centers. The provided evaluation kit includes waveguide bridges, test structures for MicroLED emitters and photodetectors, and in the demonstration configuration supports testing of up to 19,200 parallel optical channels across about 30 mm. The diffractive waveguides are manufactured by nanoimprint lithography in Rochester, New York; the technology originally comes from Vuzix's smart-glasses development. Vuzix reports a follow-up order from Augmex for the smart-glasses models M400 and LX1, intended to support Augmex’s market entry in the U.S. and further implementations across corporate divisions. The order continues a series of purchases since December 2023 and complements Augmex’s offering of Vuzix hardware, software and services for warehousing, logistics and field service. Vuzix has received a six-figure development contract from a leading supplier to the aerospace and defense industry for a waveguide-based head-mounted display. The customer-funded contract covers engineering and design services to bring the military display to series-production readiness and continues a collaboration that has been underway since September 2025.
