Lowe's reports weak Q2 comps, trims sales outlook but raises dividend
Lowe's reported fiscal Q2 results with essentially flat same-store sales (+0.2%) and management blamed macro pressures reducing DIY demand, while pro contractor sales were strong. Management now expects flat comps for the full year, down from a prior 0–2% guidance. The company raised its quarterly dividend to $1.25 (2.3% yield) and the stock's P/E has fallen to about 18, improving valuation despite year-to-date underperformance. » More on finance.yahoo.com
Lowe's cuts outlook as pro and online growth only partly offset weak DIY and housing
Lowe's reported Q2 adjusted EPS of $4.40 (beat) and total sales of $25.96bn, but organic comparable sales rose just 0.2% vs. an expected 0.8%. Management lowered full-year sales guidance to $92bn and now expects comparable sales to be roughly flat. Strength in Pro, online sales and home services supported results, but soft DIY spending and weaker housing activity, including exposure at Foundation Building Materials and Artisan Design Group, limit upside. The company is defending profitability, yet meaningful sales momentum depends on a recovery in housing turnover and larger discretionary projects. » More on finance.yahoo.com
Lowe’s Q2 profit beats expectations, stock rises 4.2%
Lowe’s reported adjusted EPS of $4.40 for Q2 (expectation $4.23) on revenue of $26.0 billion, with profit beating estimates while revenue slightly lagged. Comparable sales rose just 0.2%, online sales grew 15.7%, and free cash flow reached $3.1 billion. Management cut the full-year outlook to about $92 billion in revenue and adjusted diluted EPS of roughly $12.25, citing cautious consumers and weak housing demand. » More on de.investing.com
