Mobico sells bus business in the West Midlands for £24 million
Mobico has reached a principal agreement to sell its bus business in the West Midlands to the regional authority, with initial proceeds of around £24 million after transfer of liabilities. The transaction is based on gross assets of about £102 million; roughly £78 million will be deducted for transfer of liabilities and other costs, and £6.5 million will be retained as working capital. Deferred consideration of £5.5 million is payable in two tranches (end of 2027 and expected end of 2029). The division operates around 1,400 buses, generated £338 million in revenue and an adjusted operating profit of £2 million in the 15 months to 31 March 2026; completion is expected around November 2026 and is not expected to materially affect the group’s future earnings. » More on de.investing.com
Mobico presents turnaround plan – shares jump 32% after strong adjusted results
Mobico unveiled its "Simplify, Strengthen, Succeed" strategy along with preliminary 2025 figures: revenue rose 6.2% to £2.8bn and adjusted operating profit increased to £198m. Investors reacted positively, sending the share price up about 31.7%. Net debt fell to £1.08bn thanks to disposals, but free cash flow dropped to £77.3m.
