The Federal Reserve has approved the planned merger of OceanFirst and Flushing, after the New York State Department of Financial Services and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency had already given their consent. Shareholders of both banks approved the combination on April 2. OceanFirst reported diluted core earnings per share of $0.43 for Q1 2026, beating analysts’ estimate of $0.39, although revenues of $103.1m were slightly below expectations.
