Profit-taking weighs on Ørsted shares after Q2 figures
Ørsted reported adjusted EBITDA of 5.44 billion DKK in the second quarter, beating analysts’ expectation of 5.1 billion DKK, with the offshore segment contributing 4.4 billion DKK. Despite the positive result, management left the full-year guidance unchanged, triggering a “sell the news” reaction and weighing the stock by around 2.4%. The price remains well below the 52-week high as investors continue to view the capital-intensive offshore expansion and portfolio restructurings cautiously. An analyst and investor conference was scheduled for the same day and could further influence short-term price movements. » More on de.investing.com
Ørsted increases H1 EBITDA by 8% and confirms 2026 guidance
Ørsted reported H1 2026 EBITDA (excluding new partnerships and cancellation fees) of DKK 15.0bn, up 8% year-on-year, and confirmed its full-year guidance of above DKK 28bn. Offshore power generation rose 23% to 11.2 TWh, while net profit fell to DKK 3.3bn (prior year DKK 8.2bn), mainly due to prior-year gains on disposals as well as higher taxes and impairments. Ørsted plans gross investments of DKK 50–55bn, is reinstating dividend payments for 2026 (first payment in 2027), and reports that construction projects such as Hornsea 3 are on time and on budget; return on capital fell to 3.1%. » More on de.investing.com
Ørsted upgraded to 'overweight' by Morgan Stanley and price target raised sharply
Morgan Stanley upgraded Ørsted from “equalweight” to “overweight” and raised the price target from DKK 160 to DKK 225, citing lower risks on US projects, attractive earnings growth through 2030 and a strong balance sheet. Analysts see additional upside from the global shift toward energy security and renewables—especially offshore wind—as well as potential catalysts such as progress on the US Sunrise project and new large contracts. Goldman Sachs had also recently upgraded the stock to “buy.” Ørsted has risen about 33% year-to-date, outperforming the sector. » More on deraktionaer.de
